On Tuesday, Tuesday, September 9th,
Darin
Waters
spoke at The Lincoln
Institute Breakfast Forum.
Darin is an outstanding
young man whom Lincoln Institute President Jay Parker met
several years ago when Darin was a student at Liberty University.
Darin is now working on his Ph.D. in History at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member
of the Lincoln Institute’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Waters has recently founded and serves as president of a new
organization called the Institute for Historical Research
and Education to restore and cultivate a greater historical
consciousness among the public.
Darin filled us in on the Institute and it’s first
exciting project ... research into what may be the oldest
black cultural center in America, the YMI Cultural Center in
Asheville, North Carolina.
