On Tuesday,
May 1, 2007, Judge
Janice Rogers Brown of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the
DC Circuit
spoke at The
Lincoln Institute Breakfast
Forum
at the University Club in
Washington, D.C.
Like Justice Thomas who spoke last November,
Janice Rogers Brown is a distinguished jurist with a strict
constructionist track record who demonstrates a deep
commitment to the constitutional principle of limited
government. She is often mentioned as a possible Supreme
Court nominee.
Born a sharecropper’s
daughter, Judge Brown earned law degrees from two of the
nation’s top law schools. She has served as California’s
Deputy Attorney General and as a member of the California
Supreme Court.
We enjoyed hearing about
her fierce confirmation battle and what it’s like to serve
on the judicial battlefront first hand as she spoke on the
topic of "The Politics of Compassion; The Metaphysics of
Hate."
