hear
Carol M. Allen (with William B. Allen and Barbara J.
Grutter) discuss her forthcoming book, Ending Racial
Preferences: The Michigan Story, over breakfast between
7:30 and 9:00 am at the University Club, 1135 16th Street,
NW, Washington, D.C. Together, these three individuals
founded the non-profit organization, Toward A Fair Michigan,
in order to create a civil and civic forum for the
discussion of affirmative action preferences. They will talk
about the need to create such forums in which a fair and
honest exchange of views on controversial topics can be
accomplished in the spirit of active citizen involvement in
our democratic republic -- using the Michigan Civil Rights
Initiative as an example.
